    MrT,

Dropbox? Is that like a USB (thumb) drive?

If so, then YES! What you're looking for can be found at PortableApps.com - along with a lot of other "goodies!"

dropbox is a great service which lets you upload files into the cloud, but also puts a folder and application on your computer. thanks for the link to portable apps... i will use this resource in the future. looks like i am good to go with the normal installation it says.

ok so it looks fine, but one problem is that i need my dropbox folder to sit in the same location on all my computers. so i have to map it to a network drive, which means i have to "share" the folder in windows.

does anyone know how to share a folder in windows but not have it accessible if i go on a public wi-fi network?

    MrT,

Because your own computer's network will NOT mirror the cloud, you may have problems. However, if you can separate your local (network) application from the cloud, you should be able to specify PHP includes to your local drives as required.
