lineart – 1200 or 600 dpi

Hi everyone!

Ok I've always supplied lineart for the printer at 1200dpi. No problems as I've been more than happy with the results.

Question is that I've just been told by someone that 600dpi is more than sufficient if the printer is printing at 150lpi. Is that true?

Remember I'm talking about Lineart not colour or greyscale images.

I would say that the usual printer prints at 300dpi

If you are happy with doing your work at 1600dpi, continue. I don't see a reason to go down if you have no problems using 1600dpi.

With regards to line art I'm pretty sure that supplying at 300dpi is too low. As far as I know grayscale and colour images are fine at 300dpi but line art should be supplied at a higher resolution. (I might be wrong though)
