    I think there is a doc file in PDF-format available on the smarty website. Altough not a real tutorial it is a good script to learn the syntax and other things.

    There seems to be alot more functionality here, compared to FastTemplate, good stuff.

    Yeah Smarty is much more feature rich over fasttemplate.

    You should also take a look at patTemplate imo. It can be found at php-tools.de I believe, if not use google. It looks quite promising.
