Compression in IIS without access to server

Does anyone know if there was a way to enable http compression in IIS without admin access to the server? I only have FTP access, so any kind of .htaccess equivalent would be great

Why don't contact web hosting company directly and ask them to do what you need if that possible.

I suppose I could do, I was just wondering if there was a way to do it myself which might be quicker
