    Network Printing

I have 3 computers on a home network, linked via a linksys router [befsr41] and netowrking done by WinXp's home networking wizard.

Main computer [the one attached to the printer] is running winXP Home edition, the others [1 desktop and 1 laptop] are running WinXP Pro.

Everytime osmeone from the other computers [not the main one] try to print something, I get this error/message on the main computer.

I went through the settings and couldnt find anything suspiscious. Any help would be bery appreciated.

    thanks in advance

    1) Is the printer functional from the computer it is installed on?

    2) Is it shared, and is the shared printer visible from the other computers?

    3) Are the drivers for the printer installed correctly on the other computers as well?

    4) Are there any permissions set on the printer share? Quotas?

    1. Yes, it is always on

    2. Shared printer visible on every other compter

    3. I never had to install the drivers on the other computers, WinXP detected the network [shared] printer automatically.

    4. I dont quite understand, elaborate plz.

The additional drivers are meant for the pc which connect to your printer: i.e. you should add the drivers for Win98 if you run Win98 on one of the other pcs (not the pc which the printer is attached to)...

i know ingoal, i just tried...you never know lol.

anyway, seems a bit weird and unlikely that i have to add additional drivers for win XP on a winXP machine to make the printer work correctly.
