    Rss

    I'm new at this so I apologize in advance.

    I built my own web site using HTML and CSS after having read books published by Sitepoint.

    Now I'm trying to put an RSS feed on my site so that I can syndicate my content. I don't want a news feed from some other site. I just want to syndicate mine.

    Is there code that I can put into the HTML or do I have to learn Java Script or PHP or something else more complicated.

    I've spent the whole day researching this and haven't found a satisfactory answer.

    RSS is it's own language, it's a lot like HTML except it has many less tags you need to produce (so it's easier), below are some simple getting started links:

    Some nifty software to do the coding for you: http://home.hetnet.nl/~bsoft/rssbuilder/
    A useful tutorial for writing RSS by hand: http://www.mnot.net/rss/tutorial/
    The all important RSS specification: http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/rss/rss.html

    If you have written the RSS feed then all you need to put in the HTML is a reference to it (in the head):

    Code HTML4Strict:
    <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS Feed" href="rss.xml" />

    Thanks very much. I'll give it a try and let you know how it works out.
