    Changing the color of an object

    Hi

    I want to make something like a children's paint book. The user will choose the color from a palette and when she clicks an object, that object will seem in that color.

    Anyone knowing a tutorial about it, or any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

    Thanks in advance

    uuuppss..

    I think I forgot mentioning that i want to do that in Flash..

    By the way, the link you provided is not exactly what i want. I will put a square in flash for example and someone will pick up blue and when she clicks on the square the square becomes blue.

    Thanks

    Make whatever you want to change colour into a Movieclip and then use something along the lines of:

    mycolour = _root.colourcode;
    myColor = new Color(_root.mc);
    myColor.setRGB(parseInt(mycolour,16));

    Where _root.colourcode is the hex code for the colour without the # so bacl would be 000000 and white would be FFFFFF etc, and also where _root.mc is the name of the movie clip which you want to change colour.

    Hope this helps.
