    Two questions:

    1. Does the word boughten have any relation with bought?

    2. Is he giving you the license, or is he just making you an illegal copy?

    I. Cool, having the tools of the trade always makes life easier

II. But you'll have to learn how to *use* the tools to make them work for you... Just bacause you have a fast car doesn't mean you're a good driver

III. You'll have tons of fun with it though

IV. Don't forget to run through a few tutorials to get you started!

    i) PS is not a bad program
    ii) I prefer Fireworks
iii) Fireworks made me a better designer since I got access to more features
iv) Hopefully PS will do the same for you
    v) This thread should be in the General Chat or something

Moved to Multimedia and Graphic Design. Keep the conversation about the merits of different graphics programs and it will stay here.

And make sure it doesn't get too long

    // *runs*

PS 7 is good, but if you didn't want to buy it, paintshop pro is just as good for we based stuff

I tried using Fireworks again earlier this summer; I was working on site, and the client had told me she had Photoshop... what she really had was PhotoDeluxe from her recent scanner purchase. So I pecked away at FW... the only advantage it gave me was a splitting headache with such great power I could pierce the veil that sepparates this world from the next!

I know it's mostly because of my affinity to Adobe's interface, but I've never been too keen on the Flash model of Libraries, and the whole web layer thing in Fireworks didn't help to clarify either.

It boils down to working the most efficiently with what you know. And using Photoshop because it has a superior arsenal of effects and filters.

Although with fireworks you could always recreate those filters (or with MX use all of Photoshops filters internally) with your superior graphic design talents!
Fireworks is my favorite due to the clean interface and sub-layers. I guess my main reason for loving FW is because I can design my templates there and they will be web-ready in minutes.
