24 deals in 24 days. Let the countdown begin

With the festive season just around the corner, and the close of another year looming, we wanted to finish 2009 on a high. Last year we released a special hard cover edition of The Principles of Beautiful Web Design, which were all snapped up in a week. This year we’ve got something bigger up our sleeve…

    We’re very excited to present:

The 2009 SitePoint Christmas Advent Calendar.

For those who have never had the pleasure of owning an advent calendar, this is the way it works. For each day of the calendar, you open up a little door and receive a special gift. Usually the surprise is in the form of a trinket, or sweet treat.

But this webby advent calendar is a little different. Every day, from December 1st until Christmas Eve, we’ll unveil a new 24-hour-only deal on SitePoint goodies. Each day’s deal will be different, with a grand finale on the 24th.

Signing up to our email updates will guarantee that you don’t miss out on this December to remember. It will ensure the latest deal is delivered to your inbox the moment it’s available.

To give you a taste of what’s up for grabs, our top selling 5-PDFs-for-the-price-of-1 deal is sure to make a return at some stage, as will our 2-kits-for the-price-of-1 deal. But you’ll also see huge discounts on some of our most popular titles, and bundles so cheap, that resistance will be futile.

Make sure you don’t miss out on a bargain — sign up now!

For more information, or to see the countdown, visit: http://sale.sitepoint.com

Got me Kevin's book. Don't know if I'll need it, but the price was just too good
At least I'll be able to consult it when there are questions about it in the forum

Let's hope the offers I'm really interested in won't happen on the day I won't be able to check

Hi - thanks for the great offers - perhaps someone can help me out though and maybe help others too.

I have bought the first advent offer, and, I am planning to buy more.

I am very tempted by todays for example, but, even though my order yesterday hasn't shipped yet which had free delivery, I am being asked to pay delivery for this next order. If I chose to buy a number of things in the advent countdown - which I intend to do, Delivery is going to get very very expensive.

Furthermore, it might be that for instance the "5 top pdf's" covers what I want to buy, but I can't be sure...so I feel I might lose out and end up paying more than I will need to (even though they are good deals).

Delivery is my main quarm - I fear that I will end up having 10 overseas delivery charges when it could all just be emalgamated into 1.

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to miss out on todays offer, but, likewise, I don't want to pay expensive delivery when I have two other books waiting to be shipped which puts me into the qualification for free delivery.

    Many thanks in advance.

It's definitely a quirky and interesting idea, though I do wonder if the poor people who don't check their email too often will accidently miss out on a good deal

Either way I'm waiting for some offers on kit's as their definitely something I would be interested in purchasing!

PS: I love that "Hold your horses" bit, it's so funny

The sale looks pretty good so far.

I wish there were more PDF only options, though (maybe as an option to the main deal?)

I live in Brazil, so not only is the delivery is more expensive, it also takes a lot of time to get here. I'd have bought a couple of the deals already as PDFs.

Rather interesting how clicking on today's date brings up the "hold your horses" message and suggests checking out today's deal - which presumably is what someone is looking for when they click on today's date. The timer appears to be running 2/3 of a day behind.

Stephen we're running it based on US time, so you'll see a little lag.

Sorry Jonathan we flicked the wrong switch. It is however, not good news.

Today's deal is sold out -- not finished. The page now reflects that.

@Shayne is there any chance that yesterday offer be available again till and off the December?

I second that! What on earth is with the extortionate shipping fees? $64.85 just to get it across the pond? Don't get me wrong I was interested in the kits but when the price of getting it to my door is 2/3 of the cost of the actual kit itself I really don't think the cost is that justified (even if it is shipped special delivery).

The shipping costs do look a bit high... but my main concern is that... I already have the other two books... thinking about it though... I still have 16 hours... going to give it a bit of more thought...
