    Errors after changing to mysql_pconnect

After changing the way my database connects, I get errors on some pages of my site.

    Errors such as:
    PHP Code:
Warningmysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/gameany/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 212
    and
    PHP Code:
Parse errorsyntax errorunexpected T_STRING in /home/gameany/public_html/includes/more.php on line 11
These are basic queries which worked previously. Any ideas?

The errors/warnings did not occur until I changed the way the database connects in php. Do you have any idea what could be wrong? The php and mysql worked fine before.
