How come none of you realize how good Germany Is?
You all seem to think that Brazil and England are so much superior to the other teams that none of them stand a chance. I'm hoping that USA wins the other game today but I think Germany will win. The Germans have only allowed 1 goal so far and they thwacked that one team 8-0 . I think the German defense is just as solid as the British defense and their offense is better than the British offense. So why are you guys not even mentioning them as a "good" team?

Senegal would be a nice upset. I'm pulling for the USA. That 2-0 over Mexico was great.

I heard Micheal Schumacher is getting game updates in the cockpit of his Ferrari during practice for the GP.
If USA don't win today I am going for Senegal as they are a country that needs good things to happen to it.

Sorry I dont doubt Germany are a good team but I found this at another site (www.energy94.com)
I have deduce through strictly Euclidian >Mathematical methods, in advance of the games being played, who would win the 2002 World Cup. Here now for the first time is the amazing results of their work and also a 100% certain forecast of who will win the game between
England and Brazil.
The last time Brazil Won the world Cup was 1994, before that it was 1970
1994 + 1970 = 3964
The last time Argentina won the World Cup was 1986, before that it was 1978
1986 + 1978 = 3964
The last time Germany won the World Cup was 1990, before that it was 1974
1990 + 1974 = 3964
Therefore to reveal who the winners of the 2002 is simple, Subtract 2002
from 3964....
2002 - 3964 = 1962
In 1962 the World Cup was held in Chile the competition was won by Brazil
Therefore it is a mathematical certainty that England are f*#ked !
Hurray for Science !!!
It doesnt lieBack Again

Unless you've been on mars for the last year or so you'll know England beat Germany 5-1
and Germany drew in a friendly against Ireland 1-1.In a world where the human mind
can be programmed like a computer,
at what point does the human soul end
and the cybernetic machinery begin?

To be honest I have got to know 2 German people really well over the last 3 years (one in person, one online) and they are 2 of the nicest, genuine people I have ever met (so long as you dont talk about football, cos then they tend to fap for ages.....)

I do realise how good Germany are. They are not the best team in the tournement.
With the exception of Kahn, they have no real "World Class" players. They have a lot of very good players, and they are very well organised, but they are not as good as Brazil.

Well, USA put up one hell of a good fight but wasn't able to score. Even though Germany Won, I thought that last game was a poor performance by them. Their footwork is lacking and it will be hard for them to beat Brazil if they meet in the finals.
You have to admit that Kahn is one of the best goalie's out there though, he saved quite alot of shots.

The 5-1 thing was a once off, if they had played 2 weeks later the score would of been different.
That said a win was still up for grabs but no way would it of been 5-1Back Again

Hehe...well, the bottom line should be that: if you like to admit it or not, both England and Germany have had and still have marvellous teams !
And whether you like it or not, Germany is gonna win the Semi against South Korea, and the final against SENEGAL !

no particular bias against the germans but i either found myself drifting away (read channel-surfing) or falling asleep in the Germany matches... i reckon they're sound with a very very good goalie on Kahn but they play in a less than entertaining manner...

People don't rate Germany becuase although they have good players and are well organised, they don't have any great or even very good players. It has nothing to do with bias, in the recent past Germany have had some of the best players around Lothar Matthaus, Klinsmann, Voller, Sammer etc the only player that really stands out in the current team is Kahn.
People with any knowledge of football do not think England are superior to everyone. As shown they can't keep possesion, even against ten men and create very few chances from open play.

The German's haven't been entertaining in any way, but IF they win it, do you think they'll give a monkeys?? I doubt it.
Interestingly, although Germany 8 in one game, they still aren't the tournement top scorers, Brazil are.

Germany plays more defensive soccer than offensive, the opposite is true with brazil and brazil had the 4-0 against china and the 5-2 against Costa-Rica so that takes away the 8-0 advantage that Germany had against Saudi Arabia. Brazil could have easily gone 8 or 9-0 over China but they relaxed in the 2nd half.
Actually the German and English styles are sort of similiar although the English play a slighty more conservative style. Ballack and Beckham are about equal. I just find Brazil's footwork to be so much superior to the other teams' that they will be hard to beat.

I'm with the squirrel. German are vastly underrated. When they're having a bad day, they don't lose, they're just boring to watch. When they're having a good day, teams get whooped.
If you look at the stats for the top teams over all the world cups - #1 Brazil, #2 Germany (right behind them)
Sunday 30th is the final showdown - the first time Brazil and Germany have ever played each other anywhere in the World Cup.
