    JavaScript UI Tabs

    Hey,

    I am using JavaScript UI tabs using jQuery, which work fine in Firefox, you can see this on the following page:-

    http://kidsunlimi2.eweb102.discounta...-the-life.aspx

    Now, when you look at it in IE8 and IE7 i get errors because there is something wrong with the javascript. I havent changed the javascript in any way, and have used it the same was on many other sites.

    I get this error by clicking on the bottom left yellow icon:-

    Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917)
    Line: 0
    Char: 0
    Code: 0
    URI: http://kidsunlimi2.eweb102.discounta...-the-life.aspx
    What does this mean, how can i fix this?

    Regards

    Hi billy,

    I'm not sure on the syntax you are using.
    should $(function() at the start be $(document).ready(function() ?

    This may also help:

    Hey,

    Thanks!!!

    Your website sugggestion led me to the answer. Basically the HTML was trying to load something that had not loaded yet or something on the lines of that. So i deleted the JS and put it before the end of the body tag, and now i dont get the error message!

    Thanks again.

    Regards

    By the sounds of it my first suggestion was what you were after then
    Code:
    $(document).ready(function() {
      // execute after the page has finished loading.
    });
    Glad you sorted it out though
