Photoshop different shape options
Hi I would like to know what is the difference and when to use the 3 different types of shapes one can select. for example say i select the rectangle tool, then i can either do a shape layer, path or shape fill. what is the difference between them and when to use what? thanks

Hi,
The Shape Option draws the rectangle using vector points so that you can then continue to edit the shape, it also fills the shape with the selected foreground colour.
The Path tool draws the rectangle using vector points but does NOT fill it and the path remains editable.
The Shape Fill draws the rectangle without the vector lines and handles in a rasterized shape. There is no vector information or paths and so isn't editable.

Thanks, so for web design, designing page components, the shape would be the most commonly used I think
