    Smile Netscape 7 improvements

I've found one really good improvement in Netscape 7. The previous version did not create a scrollbar in popup windows where the content of that popup was created with JavaScript's document.write function. This version does support it.

    What improvements/gripes have you found?

Being based on the new Mozilla 1.0 code, Netscape 7 has too many improvements to list.

I love everything about it... it opens faster, supports standards better, supports more technologies, and its more responsive.

You mean it actually runs? The biggest problem I had with Netscape 6.X is that it would constantly crash. Not on one computer or OS but on many. That is the main reason, many Macintosh owners never upgraded, they switched to IE instead.

However, haven't had any problems with Mozilla builds since .89.

I was a staunch supporter of Netscape for a longtime .. but eventually web economics forced me to give it up .. as a web developer I needed to surf the way the rest of the world is surfing.

I still like Netscape's bookmarks most .. IE's still not bery friendly

Urrrgg . . . Yes it runs very well. Well, I can see your problem staight away, your using a Macintosh . No, but seriously I can't believe that Netscape doesn't support Mac's. Is that really a Mac wide phenomenon?

Actually, I use a Windows Machine... Didn't run very well on it either. Mozilla on the other hand runs great, go figure, same programmers. Must be all the AOL junk added in.

Anyway, I know a total of 10 people with Macintoshes. Netscape 6.X consistantly crashed on every single one of them. So much in fact, that they refuse to use Netscape 7.0 as they figure it will just be a waste of time. Considering last month, AOL announced that they had decided to support OSX for the first time with an upcoming version of Netscape, can tell you how much they support the community that got them started anyways. Oh well those tens of thousands of Mac user's that built AOL in the late 80's and early 90's must have been guinea pigs also.
