Transferring geeklog blog to Wordpress blog

Hi All,

I posted this under Databases and realized it was the wrong forum so I am posting here. Hope that wasn't the wrong thing to do?

I want to transfer a geeklog blog site to Wordpress. I've never done this before and don't know if the dbs are compatible, etc. I'll be using a WP template for the site, but would like to transfer everything (posts, pages, comments etc.) from geeklog. Any experience with this or thoughts about whether it can be done, comments, feedback, how tos, advice, etc. very much appreciated. Or, any tools or ways to transfer.....

I do not know how to use it and it looks like it might have a learning curve but I found this by doing a google search: http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3398

Since Geeklog and WP platforms are totally different, You can use some importer for it, the above mentioned WP import module for Geeklog would copy and translate the data directly from one database to the other.
