    Tool to identify meta content

I have a little favelet that allows you to quickly look at the meta content of the currently active page (it's available here )

Ideally, I'd like a tool that allows you to specify a root folder, and for it to be able to create a report of all the pages (.htm, .asp - perhaps this can be filtered) and their meta contents.

This is obviously not possible by spidering (or at elast I don't think it is), but it is possible with a VB application - it could create a browser object and that could go through the file system, opening pages, checking for META contents etc.

The quwestion is, does such a tool already exist? If so, please let me know. Otherwise, it would be a useful project - I'm going to give it a go but my VB is rusty to say the least, so I thought I'd try to save effort if somebody has already done it.

So basically you want to create a system that basically does what a SE spider does?

If you do, you had better sell your house!!!! It isnt going to be cheap.

Nah, I could write a spider in a day that browser the Internet and recorded meta data in a database.

What makes such things cost money is the resources they hog.
