MySQL-Front crashes on startup in WinXP

Just read the latest TechTimes, and downloaded and installed MySQL-Front 2.2 to see if it's any good.

The program installed fine on WinXP Pro, but when I tried to start it, it takes up heaps of CPU resources for a while, then it crashes, the error window has the message:

Exception EOleSysError in module mysqlfront.exe at 00080599
    Error performing inpage operation.

Anyone has similar trouble, or know how to solve it?

Have you tried using Compatibility Mode? Right click on the mysqlfront.exe in Windows Explorer and go to the compatibility tab. Change it to Windows 98 and see if it has any effect.

Hmmmm.. I would try to reinstall it. I use it under XP and don't have any problems at all. Not using compatibility mode either.

Also make sure MySQL is running as a service on your machine. Maybe it can't find it and is crashing.
