I saw a 5 page thread about godaddy and someone mentioned there were no alternatives. To me it's better to pay a few extra dollars and register with a company that is reliable and straight to the point. A company that will automatically bill you is a major turn off to me.

I just got screwed by Verio in this manner, although it's partially my fault for not logging into my email in time. The navigation interface on the site has never been that clean in my opinion. It's always struck me as unpolished. What really irritated me is that they took away my domain, when I said I never intended to renew it automatically, and kept the fee. I think that's criminal and bad practice. I'm out a domain and the renewal price.

My alternative that has always been reliable and honest is DynDNS for registration. They won't promise you the world for the price of gallon of milk, but they do one thing and do it well. I will never use Verio again, despite the ads I see here, or the likes of Godaddy.

I use name.com they are cheaper than Godaddy, and their website is fast. I have used them for over a year with no problems.

You can also go for DirectI, Enom.

After exchanging some emails I may get my domain back. We'll see if it happens.
I do need to give Verio a +1 for email support. They have been pretty responsive.

After testing almost all the registrars, we found out DirectI is better. We have all our 12 domains with them. They have fast proper support and trouble-free services.

Everyone chose domain name registrar according to his feelings and attitude
Someone want goood customer service but some need as cheap as possible price.
That is important to decide for yourself what is more important exactly for you

For the some reasons people do not recommend have all domain names with the same domain name registrar.
Have no idea why.

I have over 50 domains with the same registrar because I don't want them dispersed all over the place. It's just easier for managing them, especially when you got some report features included.

I could tell you shady things that half of the companies listed above due. However I am not here to get you to change to my registrar, nor am I here to tell you who is the best. I can tell you that the bigger a company gets, the more bad things you hear about them, this is a normal price that you pay to be on top!

I would look at many and choose one that stands out of the crowd by quality not price, the price you pay for your domains will have very little to do with the value you receive in most cases.

Some how I agree that register all domains with one registrar but this is also true that it reduce tensions of managing domain.

No mentions about domainsite? Its another good and reliable domain registrar, with much flexible options and very easy-to-use interface and pricing too being good.
It is a good alternative to godaddy, enom, dynadot, namecheap etc. and sends emails about the expiring domain names from your account, notifying you to renew them.

I've never got any problem with them, nor they have taken away any domain from me. So is with Godaddy and Namecheap too with whom I have my few other domains registered.

well, i have heard of many similar topics on different domain name forums, different people have different ideas, it's normal.
