Image repeat-x problem

Trying to repeat an 8px by 100px image on the X-axis but as you can see below this is what I get.

It looks absolutly fine in phostoshop, I've cropped it to 8x100px and saved as both a gif and png-24 both with the same issue.

What am I doing wrong now?



Edit: Here is a closeup of the image, as you can see after saving, it has added some type of shading along the sides automatically.

How do I stop this?

I solved this issue by using a 1px wide image rather than an 8px wide.

The only problem on that picture is the sides of it are darker that the shade at the center. Try to make the gradient more finer and continuous.
