I don't think tech press releases are allowed to reach the level where they can be considered good, or even readable in many cases.

Here's how the process seems to work...

    1. Ask engineer how the thing works.
    2. Deafening silence.
    3. Cue cricket sound.
    4. Just start writing something. Without point or purpose or any hint of a user.
    5. Give this something to the engineer.
    6. Watch engineer become quite upset at how badly you've missed the point of everything.
    7. As the engineer berates you, in between insults he will also throw off nuggets of technical information.
    8. Collect these nuggets, as they are the only reliable technical information you will receive.
    9. Try like crazy to weave together this information into something interesting a human would actually read.
    10. Give the results to management to okay, only to see the look of mute horror as they realize this thing has no purpose and has zero reason to exist in the marketplace.
    11. Give up on that and resort to The Content-Free Buzzword Compliant Vocabulary List to cover up the fact you said absolutely nothing in the release.
    12. Pray Apple invades your industry to show how to develop a product worth writing a press release about.
    13. Should your prayers be answered, write about the [insert Apple product name] killer you and every competitor in your industry is working on.
