How to create a simple wordpress theme

    Hi,

I have been reading a book about themes and watching some videos and I now have a better idea on how to create a theme. What if I wanted to create a very simple theme without any live interaction, in other words a plain web site with 5 pages with a menu and its content, no posts no... nothing. I only need to create a static site with 5 pages that can be easily updated and I'm afraid to delete stuff that wordpess may need if I use one of the default themes.

What would be the minimum code and templates needed to create a simple theme (of course without any CSS)?

Would this be enough? If yes, what would be the minimum code needed in each template?

    index.php
    header.php
    sidebar.php
    footer.php
    style.css

Is there some sort of themes like the ones found in Starkers but with less code or simpler?
    .
    Thanks
    Thank you very much!!!

If you are just going to use (5) pages you could get away with just index.php as the only file. You will however need to create a style.css file with the needed info at the top for it to appear in the admin area with a name and such.

But realistically all you will need is the ones you listed.

Wow! Is it possible to create a theme only with the index.php template (of course without any function)?

    Is that simple?

I know I know, but... do you know of any theme like this that I can refer to?

    Thanks a lot!
    Thank you very much!!!

    Yes here ya go!

I kinda just threw this together but it seems to be working. It has no styles attached to it. If I we're going to actually use this for a 5 page site. I would remove the link from around the page titles and some other small things could be removed/changed too.
