    ok... what am I doing wrong here....

    Hello All:

    I am trying to get the links on my site at http://www.emrcontractor.com/newsite to adhear to the following in my css

    Code:
    .menu, a.menu:link, a:active {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:none;
    }

    .menu, a.menu:link, a:hover {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:underline;
    }
    However, the class menu as stated below does not seem to want to work.

    Code:
    <a class="menu" href="index.php">Home</a>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a class="menu" href="about.php">About us</a>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a href="resources.php">Resources</a>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a href="contactus.php">Contact Us</a>
    Am I typing this out wrong in my css or my menu?

    Thanks for any help or advice with this,

    Paul

    I'm not certain but try this,
    I placed .menu before the a:link, rather than a:link.menu its .menu a:link

    Code CSS:
    .menu, .menu a:link, .menu a:active {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:none;
    }

    .menu, .menu a:link, .menu a:hover {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:underline;
    }

    Note: With what you had being - .menu, a:hover
    the a:hover will apply to all links not just the menu, you have to declare the .menu before every a: element

    Hi, you do realize that when you use commas to seperate rules each rule is seperate. So this
    Code:
    .menu, a.menu:link, a:active {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:none;
    }
    Is this
    Code:
    .menu, a.menu:link, a:active {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:none;
    }
    a.menu:link, a:active {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:none;
    }
    a:active {
        font-family:ariel, verdana, sans-serif;
        font-size:10px;
        color:#ffffff;
        text-decoration:none;
    }
    I went to your site (are you doing changes btw?) and I don't see the classes on the anchors.

    Hi Ryan,

    No I did not realize that was the case. Seperate rules.

    and no I was not doing changes but I know what you are going to say, I only have classes on the first two menu items

    I know, I was just testing to make sure before I did all of them and more.

    Thanks for any further help or advice.

    Oh I'm sorry that aabove code I gave is wrong. I forgot to delete each section...but you get hte drift.

    I was aactually going to say you were messing with it because on refresh I lost some CSS that was previously there (in firebug)
