Installing SQL Server 2008

Hey,

I have downloaded SQL Server from Microsoft.

Now, i am on Vista, i was given the option to download x64 and x84, i chose x84..

I am having problems however when it comes to the Server Configuration — Service Accounts page. What exactly do i need to do on this page? I have tried entering a username and password and then get weird errors, see screengrab below.

I already have VS 2008 installed, just need SQL Server 2008 but for some reason it seems really complicated to do.. I need to use a SQL Server datbases asap as i am developing a CMS and without a database i cant really do anything..

How can i fix this problem? Also do i need to install management studio to manage my database?

Use one of the builtin accounts (eg not--mypc/billy).

Yea, installing sql 2008 is quite a bit of a mission. Mine did not work with built in accounts for some reason, I had to create a new user just for this purpose, which worked fine. But I was also installing the beta version of sql, so things could have changed since then

Thats worked perfectly. As i have never used SQL Server as a database before, do you know of any tutorials i can have a look at, helping me understand how to insert tables, and add incrementing values etc..
