    Server software

I looked into a software package that could be downloaded free that set up a complete Linux web server similar to NetMax with a browser based admin.

Problem is now that I need it I can't find the link.

Has anyone here heard of it?

    You missed something

    Thanks for responding, but . . .
The key word in my post was FREE.

Sure I can buy a Cpanel license for $1400, but for my own use that's a little steep.

I just want a server that has PHP and MySQL running locally so I can test my code without having to ftp it to my online server.

I could install Linux and then add PHP and MySQL and try to get it all running together, or get something like I saw that has it all running in 15 minutes.

Good luck finding a free one.

you can install apache, php, and mysql for free. But if you want a complicated web based admin for your local server (why actually? If this is your local server you can physically sit infront of it and do whatever you need) then you'll most likely have to pay money.

If you want to setup php, mysql, and apache, try out the ApacheToolbox

    http://www.apachetoolbox.com/

It's a shell script that installs what your looking for as well as several other programs including Apache Tomcat, Python, and several others.

You basically tell it what you want and don't want.
