    phpmyadmin on server

I have created a site that works well when tested on my local system.
The basic html and php components are okay, but the data base (MySQL) has me confused when I am trying to get it to work for the public.

I want to use phpmyadmin, but don't where to put it in the folders on my provider or how to access it from that point. I also am confused about privileges and passwords.

I am a retired teacher and this is my first attempt. Please help.

Just create a /phpmyadmin/ folder, and toss it in there. You can password protect it from there (.htaccess over SSL, which is what I prefer to do), if you want to go above and beyond the security present (barely any) in phpmyadmin.

    Hi

Are you using cPanel webhosting by any chance? Phpmyadmin is usually installed on cPanel servers by default, which saves you the hassle of messing around installing it yourself.

If you don't already have it, then cpace1983's advice is good. However I would be inclined to put it in a more obscurely named folder, so it's not so easy to find by script kiddies! And, definitely do not forget to password protect the folder :-)

    Cheers

Where is your site hosted? We should be able to see from their website if its a cPanel server.
