    PHP download script

Hi guys, does anybody know how to create a download script? I need to display to the user the current kbps, amount downloaded, time left etc. Are there any tutorials on this?

In what context? Wouldn't the users browser provide this information for them?

No, because my script will be downloading the file directly onto the server (not via their browser). For example, they click download, the file downloads onto the server and I want to display how long the download will take, kbps etc..

Ah I see, dependent on how you download the file, I know cURL provides access to this information.

You could have the background process save the required information to a desired storage medium (db, session, file, etc...) and then have PHP read it.
