Thumbs down Warning to people using Facebook PPC, Facebook Promotion for Business.

    Hello,

I just have a warning for any one using Facebook PPC for marketing their business pages via the website.

Recently my business account was deleted with no warning at all,

I lost many clients pages, and only had 50% backed up.

I have never spammed Facebook with this account, the reason given for the deletion of my account and all joining pages is: "This account has been deleted because it construed to SPAM"

The worst thing with Facebook is the lack of professionalism as a paid advertiser, they neglected to email me or even attempt to call me about this, my account was deleted and I lost every thing.

The worst thing is they make it near impossible to contact them.

So this is a stern warning for any one using Facebook for promoting their business, I would think twice.

Here is a example of a similar case from another advertiser -

    Regards.

Thanks for the info. I was just about to start promoting on FB. I'll have to be extremely careful.

Their are many cases similar to mine and this other guy at consumerist.

I have heard of advertising agencies loosing all their pages with no consulting from Facebook.

Its quite ridiculous that they don't attempt to call you or email you they just delete every thing at the click of a mouse from some junior account rep.

Ive appealed this yet they have not replied in a week so things are not looking good.

Wow... that really sucks. I am wary of promoting my brand on any social network because if someone decides to view it as spam, there's nothing you can do about it. It looks bad for your business and it might not even be true.

My advice to people with pages is to not have just one admin,

Because if your account is deleted and you only have 1 admin.

You loose the page, yet if you have a admin on the page it is safe.

I lost a few generic pages with around 10-60k fans.

I also heard many horror stories about FB's lack of professionalism in their ad program. They often delete accounts without any warning and that sucks. Google doesn't do that.

Sad but true...FB has been developing a history of this lately. Thanks for the reminder of what some of us have suffered through.

Good job facebook. Its people like you that are ruining facebook! The vast majority of facebook users will be happy with this sort of action by facebook.

Its also shows what integrity facebook have in that they were not willing to keep your account just because you pay them $

Facebook do not delete accounts on a whim; they delete after you have shown that you could not comply with the term of use that you agreed to when you join.

That' too bad. Have you try to contact the admin for that, and ask for further reason/explanation to their action.
Anyway thanks for informing the public.
