Either way you're dealing with a sample size in the millions so it should be statistically accurate.

Are you asking which one gets the most traffic to their website? I wouldn't know although I'd have to say Overture.

Overture listings are hit a lot more than google ad words. That's a fact.

Actually, according to these two reports:

    http://searchenginewatch.com/reports/perday.html

    http://searchenginewatch.com/reports/mediametrix.html

Google is searched much more often.

According to the links aspen just posted, one could multiply the results given by the overture suggestion tool by 9 to get the correct amount of searches in google. Roughly. Very roughly.

Thanks for the update. I thought google was searched more.

To be more precise in my last post I meant that overture listings are much more effective than google adwords.

Does that report include the results overture provides to other SE's?

I don't think that would be possible without destroying the statistics, since Overture doesn't really provide "results", but rather just a few paid listings.

I think it does take partners into account, it does for the Google numbers, why wouldn't it for overture numbers. Of course these statistics are self reported as well.

    Something sounds fishy...

Maybe Ill do some math and see what kind of numbers we get for certain keywords....

But then again that's math... :-)
