Smile What music do you listen to while you work?

I've been into music lately while working lately. Mostly, I listen to it while I'm coding. For the most part, I listen to ambient or electronic stuff, with no words.

Funny how it gets you into the 'flow' and helps eliminate distractions.

What all do you guys listen to?

    Here is my list
    - Radiohead
    - Explosions in the sky
    - Album Leaf
    - Lotus
    - STS9

House, Techno, Electronic ... preferably those with not much lyrics because I get distracted by it. And then I end up searching for the lyrics on google and singing along with the music. hahaha! at least with club/party tunes, there's not much lyrics going on and you can't really sing it like regular pop music or rock.

I listen to podcasts... LOTS of them, It's how I help keep my skills up-to-date and knowledge of the web going (plus it means I dont need to waste time reading when I can listen to the amusing banter while I work, which keeps things more interesting!) - Who said men couldn't multitask!

Whilst they were also thinking of other ways to annoy us - therefore multitasking...

As for specific artists I listen to David Gray, Travis, U2, Coldplay, Savage Garden and sometimes Snow Patrol. However, I like most kinds of music so I have a few compilation albums like "101 Driving Songs" and "100 Hits - Drivetime" when I'm lacking tune.

I find that 70s punk helps me concentrate the most, stuff like the Sex Pistols and the Buzzcocks. Helps drown out all those distractions!

I got about 2600 songs currently and continues to grow bigger everyday from various artists. So I just throw on shuffle and let it play though randomly. Mostly rock but no particular genre or artist.

I listen to so much and go through phases but recently at work I've been playing Inflikted by the Cavalera Conspiracy, or maybe some Soulfly. It's metal with growling vocals by Max Cavalera. Drowning out the distractions indeed, but it works!

I listen to house and tech while working, and indie guitar stuff when not.

I can't listen to podcasts while I work; they're distracting and I keep wanting to open up tabs and read stuff they're talking about. They make for excellent commuter listening, though!

My fiancee's blog has some good dj sets on it if you like that sort of thing!

You wouldn't get any work done at my house then, I have 70 active podcast subscriptions and I listen to them while I work.

It'd be a very long commute to your house, though, so I reckon I'd chew through a few.
