    Problem with scroll bar color

    First let me say that I know very little about CSS, but that might be apparent with the question I'm about to ask

    In the base template of my forum I have the following code (placed there by the creator of the board).

    <style type="text/css">

    a:link { color: {link}; text-decoration: none; font-weight:bold}
    a:visited { color: {link}; text-decoration: none; font-weight:bold}
    a:active { color: {alink}; text-decoration: none; font-weight:bold}
    a:hover { color: {hlink}; text-decoration: underline; font-weight:bold}

    body {color: {bodytext}; font-family: {fontface}; font-size: 11px;
    background-color: {background}; margin: 0px; padding: 0px}
    hr.solid-grey {border: 1px dashed {tableborder}}
    table.main {background-color: {tableborder}; width: 100%}
    tr.header {color: {headerfont}; font-weight:bold; background-color: {header}; background: url("{imagepath}/{catbgimg}")}
    tr.header2 {color: {header2font}; font-weight:bold; background-color: {header2}; height: 15px}
    td.primary {background-color: {primary}; height: 20px; padding: 3pt}
    td.secondary {background-color: {secondary}; padding: 3pt}
    td.main {padding: 2pt}
    font.medium {font-family: {fontface}; font-size: 13px}
    font.date {font-family: {fontface}; color: $tempvars[datefont]}
    tr.large {font-family: {fontface}; font-size: 10px; height: 50px}
    input {color: {inputtextcolor}; background-color: {inputbg}; font-family: {fontface}; font-size: {inputtextsize}; border-width : {inputbordersize}; border-color : {inputborder}; border-style : solid}
    select {color: {inputtextcolor}; background-color: {inputbg}; font-family: {fontface}; font-size: {inputtextsize}; border-width : {inputbordersize}; border-color : {inputborder}; border-style : solid}
    option {color: {inputtextcolor}; background-color: {inputbg}; font-family: {fontface}; font-size: {inputtextsize}; border-width : {inputbordersize}; border-color : {inputborder}; border-style : solid}
    textarea {color: {inputtextcolor}; background-color: {inputbg}; font-family: {fontface}; font-size: {inputtextsize}; border-width : {inputbordersize}; border-color : {inputborder}; border-style : solid}

    </style>

    I want to add some color to the scroll bar, but no matter where I put the following in the above code, it does not work.

    BODY{
    scrollbar-base-color:#000000;
    scrollbar-face-color:#70A5D9;
    scrollbar-3dlight-color:#FFFFFF;
    scrollbar-darkshadow-color:#000000;
    scrollbar-highlight-color:#6086AC;
    scrollbar-track-color:#39597D;
    scrollbar-shadow-color:#000000;
    scrollbar-arrow-color:#000000;
    }

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Make sure that you only have one
    body {
    color: {bodytext};
    font-family: {fontface};
    font-size: 11px;
    scrollbar-base-color:#000000;
    scrollbar-face-color:#70A5D9;
    scrollbar-3dlight-color:#FFFFFF;
    scrollbar-darkshadow-color:#000000;
    scrollbar-highlight-color:#6086AC;
    scrollbar-track-color:#39597D;
    scrollbar-shadow-color:#000000;
    scrollbar-arrow-color:#000000
    }

    and see if that helps

    If you're using IE 6 and a DOCTYPE, the colored scrollbars won't show up. Just an FYI, as that might be the problem.

    I didn't know that. I guess I'm out of luck. I removed the doctype and the scroll bar color worked, however, it messed up the look of the text etc.
