    Content background not showing in Fx and IE8?

    Hey,

    I have a gradient background for my content on the website, URL given below. Take a look at it in IE7 and it works fine, you can see that the content has a purple background.

    But in IE8 and Firefox it disapears?

    Can anybody help out?

    This is a common problem. Unfloated containers don't enclose floated content in proper browsers.

    The easiest solution is to add this:

    Code:
    #main_content {
      overflow: hidden;
    }
    More info here.

    This is a common problem as Ralphp said, when testing in IE it most often works because the element has haslayout and hwen in that mode it contains floats (along with a lot of other things). A width is most often the cause.

    Make sure the element in question also has given haslayout to IE6.
