Is this a good idea? (Environmental)

How about a website which uses games to promote environmental issues to children. The games would be good but they would all be based on saving the environment. Such a puzzle where you have to switch off lights or preserve energy to complete a level.

    Their is one game: http://www.gamehouse.com/online-game...t-green-online

The problem is that, well, it won't work. It can't work!

Just because it's in a game doesn't mean kids will go crazy about the idea. Violent games are followed by kids for one reason - they're radical, they push previous limits.

So, if you can think of a game that's FUN (nothing rubbish), interesting, intelligent, pushes limits and captures imagination, go for it.

But I can't see a light-switch game even touching that.

Hey. Check these out. These were created for savewater.com.au by students from Swinburne Uni.
Mission H2O was made students of 2007 while Mission CO2 was made last year which I was a part of. I helped with the "Electrician" part of the game.

Keep in mind these are very big projects with about 60? people working on the whole production throughout a year or so.

In terms of creating a game for children to learn about the environment I think it's a great idea. But I believe your audience would need to be quite young with the games that could be created about the environment.

It is a great idea, but the games must be interesting.

I definitely agree that it was a great idea. Glad to hear that there are lot of people still caring to the environment.
