    IE userData across all directories

I've been using the IE userData behaviour and I realized that it can't retrieve the same data in a different folder or subfolder that it was created in.

    so:

If I set "name" with "value" in:

    website.com/folder/

then I won't be able to access it in:

    website.com/folder/sub

    or

    website.com/folder2

Does anyone know a way to get around this? One solution would be to have a pure ajax URL system where...

    website.com/#/folder2

This would work, but in the even that I have a page with a proper URL then the data can't be fetched.

I've tried using an embedded frame that has a root folder, but it didn't work.

    Any ideas?
I can't believe I ate the whole thing

I'm not familiar with this ie feature, but what about storing the data serverside? You could write some javascript to interface with this serverside data store(ajax, if needed), and use a cookie to identify the chunk of data.
