All other IM's pale in comparison. My Second favorite would be MSN. If it had message history then I would use it more.
Yahoo and AIM have none of the features that I personally look for. I don't use Yahoo at all and only use AIM to talk to my mother if I can't get her on the phone.
Trillian could be good if I didn't have to give up so much of ICQ's functionality including my contact list.
It can be downloaded at: http://www.patchou.com/msgplus/
The thing I didn't like about Trillian is that it doesn't support authorized requests, at least it didn't the last time I tried. I had to re-install ICQ to add new contacts to my list and import the new list into Trillian again.
In stead, I started using Miranda ICQ, a stripped down freeware ICQ version.

imici?
What is the advantage of using Imici? Seems that an older version wouldn't be as good.

there aren't any particular features of imici that have held my interest...it's just that this old version of imici was the first one i installed and i haven't had a need to get a newer version."There's no justice like angry mob justice!" --Seymour Skinner

What I want to know is why all of you who use more than one IM don't prefer Trillian. I've read some of your reasons (more like excuses
), but some of you need to explain.

I just dloaded Trillian last weekend. I'm still getting used to it.
One thing I miss from AOL is a time stamp of each message. I thought that was always useful, or maybe I just got used to it. Also, I can't copy/past from the messages. Like if a buddy sent me something, I can't highlight and copy it. Maybe it is the skin I'm using that is doing that to me.
It rocks all over MSN though. Plus, it lets you have a message history (but is it stored on my computer or a trillian server? I mean if I use trillian on 2 dif computers, they wont' have the same message history will they? It'd be nice if they did.)
I've not used ICQ in a while, so I can't really compare it just yet.Now Here........ Mississippi Sports Talk

I use msn messenger behind a firewall and it's a real pain in the behind. It's wanting to connect to the internet..It's wanting to act as a server...No contacts on-line - even when I know they are....Another version of messenger is available downlod now....etc.
All these wee annoyances really put me off using it, it's obtrusive in my opinion.
Icq, too complicated for the average person.
Yahoo hangs everytime on my machine, another pain in the .

I'd like to use an all in one, but with my experience, they haven't rendered a user profile correctly yet...(ie, they don't support links and such) if anyone knows of one that does, I'd be more than happy to try it out.
