    I think this is possible, and honestly it depends how in depth you go to creating a completely fresh mock up, it entirely depends on the style of the business as well. As a both web and graphic designer in the past these sort of schedules have been expected where ever I work.

    Obviously It would be nice to have more time on designs and really work on getting a design perfect, but time is money sometimes.

    IMHO, creating the layout for a multi-page design in one day is perfectly acceptable. However, I think doing the layout + css in a day is crazy. Sure, there are some who can work that fast, but that is a really stressful way to make a living.

    And as every designer knows, it's pretty much impossible to make a client happy on the very first attempt. There are always changes, and that's why I would not have any desire to do the page layout + CSS in one day. I always wait until the design is 100% complete (and client is happy) before cutting it up and doing the CSS.
