Question Vendor wants to pay me via virtual credit card

A long time client who pays via cheque is switching me to a virtual credit card payment system - a system that their other vendors love. They will email me the credit card number and CVS number. I don't understand, and they can't explain, how I get money off the card and into my bank account. I don't want to spend $,000s on ebay just to access the funds - and I don't want to run it through PayPal - incurring fees and getting suspicion or problems for using a virtual credit card. Does anyone know how this works?

Unless they can make a good argument for it, I don't like the sound of that.

Basically virtual credit cards are single (or multiple use) systems that PayPal offers, it allows people who are concerned about businesses stealing their digits and defrauding them to give the business a card which either can expire or only be used by one person, this means that fraud can be more easily tracked and proven. Of course as long as you get paid it probably doesn't affect you but I would be wary of the system as I really cannot say for sure how reliable the payment methods are.

It's not PayPal. My client is a major bricks-and-mortar company.

This e-pay sounds identical to what they are now using:
