    FireFox needs a Email Client

How come Opera has a email client within the browser, but FireFox doesn't ? The closest thing for FireFox is a plug-in called SimpleMail. I think one of the reasons Firefox doesn't have a email client within the browser is because of Thunderbird.

Personally, I don't want a mail client in my browser. I'd rather have a stand-alone client. It's certainly easier to make backups and migrate to other clients.

I actually use thunderbird (after moving from OE6), but prefer opera as my primary browser

The reason is because Mozilla's Seamonkey product has the built in mail client, news reader, kitchen sink, etc. Firefox was split off from Seamonkey like 6 years ago to be a browser only.

Thunderbird is the email client for Firefox. If you want them integrated you'd get Seamonkey which is the integrated version.

SeaMonkey has Thunderbird and Firefox together. I didn't know that why do they call it seamonkey. Does Seamonkey use the same rendering engine as firefox ?

Seamonkey is the name of an internet suite. The browser componentis called Firefox and the email component is called Thunderbird. Unlike with some other internet suites the Seamonkey suite has some components available separately as well.
