Which CMS for Easy Image Uploading?

Im designing a website for a friend who isnt good with computers at all and im looking for a cms for their website. im looking for a CMS which makes image uploading easy for them to where it adds the image to the gallery and resizes the image by already having something like "max width:700px" and a max height.. I would also need a thumbnail of the image added to the gallery with the other thumbnails.. Im thinking about wordpress but ive never used it as a CMS so im asking what others think would be the best solution for this..

Which light/easy CMS should I use?
