If it's something simple you possibly don't need to use OOP.
However if you find yourself writing the same code over and over - or variations of the code - then opt for OOP. If you're going for extendability and something that can be changed easily also go with OOP.
It's good to know both ways to code.

after reading this...it seems like even creator didnt wanted php to go whole oop....
even oop people even there are teaching the creator...oop is the right way
