    Buying new desktop - suggestions?

    Hey guys,

I've been a laptop user for the past year or two, but am currently looking into purchasing a new desktop computer. I plan on using my 26" LG LCD with it, and just thought I'd get some opinions on what would be the best option based on what I will be using the desktop for.

I do NOT intend on using this computer for gaming. Primarily I will be using the computer to design and edit various designs (web, logos etc) in photoshop/illustrator. I usually have a number of different applications/files opened, which on my laptop results in a slowed performance.

So yeah, basically I want something with great performance, speed and a fair bit of memory for my day to day designing duties! I also would rather it came pre-built.

    Cheers.

Head to your local Best Buy or other big box store, and pick up anything in the $700-1000 range. It's really that simple. They will all be quad core Intel or AMD processors, 6-8GB RAM, a plenty fast video card and Vista Home Premium. They'll all be overkill for your day to day work. Nobody sells a desktop that doesn't exceed your requirements anymore, you only have to think about that kind of stuff when it comes to laptops.

You have not seen the prices on a Core i7 have you? And according to the OP's requirements, a Core i7 would be way overkill including killing his/her wallet. Nor is high-end graphics required, something in the low to mid range would be more then capable for the OP's requirements.

    * For the cheapest Core i7 ($290) I could get AMD's latest and greatest (Phenom II X4 965) for $250.
    Logic without the fatal effects.

Try to buy Intel Quad Core, 8GB RAM or more, ATI RADEON (latest one) with almost 2GB RAM or MORE, Seagate Harddisk 500GB capacity, Vista Ultimate or a MAC. That could help in your graphics.
    I love musics
