    writing driving directions for website

I am developing a website for my church and I need suggestions for writing driving directions. So far I have embedded a Google map, but I also want to include a section with driving directions from three different starting points. I am just not sure the best way of writing out those directions. The directions generated by Google maps are pretty good, but I want to describe the starting point rather loosely, as in what road to start on, instead of saying exactly where on the road to begin. Do you know of any websites that give some suggestions about how to write directions?

Why not link to google maps's directions page with the destination filled in so they can enter the start address themselves?

Could you start at a well known waypoint (such as a motorway)?

Yup, maps would work better than descriptions. Do what Vinnie says

When I visit sites that I need to find the location for an event or place, I always use their Zip/Post code and go directly to google maps anyway. I might not be 99% of all web users, but it is a work-flow I stick with for ease and it works.

I would recommend just keeping the google map link but...

Choose 3-4 major highways. Make sure they are coming from different directions. If its a highway people will know how to get there which makes sense over a landmark where people have to find first.
