MSN search is currently using Looksmart listings first followed by inktomi secondary results.
Recently Looksmart changed their directory submission program to a pay per click program. So as yet it is unsure how these changes are affecting msn listings.
As i just posted in reply to your inktomi question, your best bet is to find the niche phrases on msn where there is little or no looksmart listings and try to get to the top of the ink listings for that phrase.
Does that make sense? (I am presuming these are commercial sites, if not you can submit non commercial sites to looksmart through zeal that would get you msn listings.)
BTW Msn's top listings are from overture (b4 looksmart)but i think they only display listings costing 15c or more so are not in every results page. But i guessed you didnt want to pay overture.Last edited by greengirl; Jun 10, 2002 at 08:01.

Ok, Thanks for that.
I only really concentrate on my google listings so i though i would branch out as i have acomplished some very good rankings there.
What other search engines would you suggest i concentrate on now?
Thanks

I would concentrate on fine tuning and testing your inktomi listings.
Also if you havent already a dmoz.org listing.
Rather than spending lots of money in the other SE's you could try increasing what you have in google by increasing the amount of pages and adding more content.
There is an upcoming SE that you can still submit to for free called Wisenut, they have been bought by looksmart but as yet thay havent said what will happen to it.
Failing that its all pay for play. If you can i would recommend paying for inktomi, yahoo, google adwords and overture.www.madtraffic.co.uk-Internet marketing and search engine promotion specialists
