Why do you pay only quarterly and not monthly?

I looked at the page and it reads like an MLM scam. I did not see an explanation of what the product is or what benefit there is to your product.

If as a publisher, I can't figure out what is offered, I'm not going to present it to my visitors.

I agree with lil_red - you have way too much bullcrapola on that page. Tell me what you are offering, and list the facts of the program quickly.

    Point taken.

I've rewritten the text to remove the BS and add more info specific to the program.

    http://www.element25.co.uk/uk/affili..._potential.asp

Does this make the program sound more attractive?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    MUCH better! Excellent, in fact.

Next step: Signup form. A mailto link just doesn't cut it.

Glad to hear I'm learning something. I have to say that this forum really is one of the most constructive that I've come across.

There is in fact a link in the menu on the left but one thing I've learnt so far is to make this as easy as possible for potential affiliates so I've added an extra link to the sign-up form and also some preview images for the stats. Does this help things?

PS - I'm looking for the ever elusive super affiliates - I'll be offering 50% commission (from 50 to 125) to them to put the program through it's paces - please contact me at affiliate@element25.co.uk if you're interested

That text is now a wonder of usability - Jakob Nielsen would be proud!

I must also applaud your way of taking criticisms!

Please remove me from your program. If I had wanted to sign up for it, I would have when I visited your page.

This is a bad practice and does not lend credibility to your program.

Re: Getting More People To Join Affiliate Program

    Three suggestions Cliff...

    1. Your main web page could use some help from a
professional copyrighter or spend some time reading
some good copyright info on the web. Believe it or
not, people will look at you main page and make a
split second decision on whether this will work or
not. I don't see any compelling reason why a
customer would buy your service over another similar
    all-in-one web hosting service.

    2. Testimonials, testimonials, testimonials. On
both your main site and on the affiliate program.
Even if you have to discount substantially, or give
a few months away free (or at cost) to get your first
few testimonials, it's so important to converting
    visitors to sales.

    3. You need to market your affiliate program as hard
as you market your site. Building a strong affiliate
base is not a passive activity - you have to go
seek out joint venture partners who target the same
space as you do - with different services albeit. The
funny thing about directories is that people will
usually not find you unless you are rated highly -
it's kind of a chicken and egg scenario.

    Cheers...

    Thanks again for your comments.

Matthew - do you mean the reciprocal links at the bottom of the affiliate program page? If so, yes, I agree and I've moved them onto their own page - some of the directories insist you link to them before they list you site ... If you mean the country links on the main site homepage, these are needed as they give the user slightly different options in terms of area options, listings, etc and I'll probably be expanding these differences as the site and service develops. If this is what you meant, I'll look into a different way of achieving the same effect.

Jeff - again, do you mean the main site homepage or the page that you get to after you select a country? I agree as well - the main homepage text does need some work on it.

If anybody has a minute and would like to have access to a site to test the product out (totally free of course), please contact me (affiliates@element25.co.uk) for details as it will be no problem to arrange this. As Jeff says, a testimonial would be fantastic.

Again, thanks for the comments and keep 'em coming ...

    Cliff

Hi Cliff - when I mentioned your copy, I meant
    your main index page.

I will email in a day or so (once I get some
free time) to test drive your product.

    Cheers...

There are dozens of affiliate program directories - check out dmoz.org for affiliate programs.

So go to every directory and submit your affiliate program there, it should bring in some sign ups.

    Good luck
