    Wordpress access over local network

    Hi guys,

I could not find any decent help on the net regarding accessing wordpress over a local network , so now im looking for advice here.

We have two pc's in our office running over a local wireless network.
Pc A & B both have wordpress intalled & running correctly.
Pc A can access localhost of Pc B & vice versa...

    the problem...

We want to work on the same WP project,
how can Pc A access Pc B's WP folder with the entire DB & view WP exactly the same as Pc B?

    thanks!

    You can use http://IPADDRESS/wordpressinstallationfolder

If you are using WAMP or XAMPP on windows, then you can just use the http://IPADDRESS to access the WAMP or XAMPP home page.

I dont have a issue accessing the wordpress folder, but i cant view any images or blog pages created, its all stored in the db.

To conclude, my problem is actually accessing a mysql db over the network

Wouldn't it make more sense to have Wordpress installed on just one machine, which you and your colleague(s) can view by going to http://192.168.0.2/ (assuming that's the local IP of the server) and can access the files via the network?

If not, all you should need to do is set the database host on computer B as the IP address of computer A.

This makes sense & is exactly what we will be doing now, but on a live server and not localhost.

We will have a construction page up for the live url and work on wordpress in the background.

    Thanks for the help guys!
