What color is your home office painted?

I'm soon to be purchasing my first home with a decent-sized office I hope to be spending as much time in as possible (currently, I'm tired of staring at four white walls so I go elsewhere).

Planning a coloring scheme - two-tone - and having difficulties. I'm curious if anyone has spent any decent research into coloring schemes that help motivate or "exercise" the brain. I haven't really considered home coloring to be an effective mood controller but watching the home improvement shows is really making me think.

If you have a home office you custom-painted, what color scheme did you go with? And why?

wow! very interesting. don't know if i could handle that, though. colors i picked so far are like a chocolate brown for the base (3ft) with an off-white trim then "autumn red" (maroon) for the top half of the walls. after doing a sample in photoshop not too sure it'll help me work. may help me sleep, though

what made everyone pick those colors?

Mine is a moss green with white trim. Green for me is relaxing and comforting especially when I'm tired. And it goes well on warm lights.

I agree, colour has an effect on your mood and it has a subtle effect on your ability to be effective Check out this site, it has a whole bunch of stuff about colours, what they mean and what colours are better where, how much to use etc... at the end of the day though, the most important thing is how being surrounded by that colour makes you feel... Don't get too intellectual with it (I know I do that sometimes lol)

Hope that helps If not, just google "what do colors mean?", "psychology of color" or something similar

    I went by feng shui.
The north west corner is perfect for an office. The elements represented by feng shui are metallic grays and blacks. It is stated that it is perfect for computers/printers/other machinery. Therefore, I chose to paint my office a pale gray / almost matte silver color. It goes well with equipment and isn't dark enough to be oppressive.

You can always further the look by getting office accessories in metal (solid or mesh).

Beige, like every other wall color in my house that I'm too lazy to paint. Besides, I have a huge window and woods in my backyard so I look that way for color.
