    Have you tried:
    PHP Code:
    <link rel=stylesheet href=layout.css
    And then under that put:
    PHP Code:
    <link rel=stylesheet href=styles.css
    Hope this helps.

    OK, i think i have been a silly boy

    I am thinking that i can have example 1 and put page layout in layout.css but i now see that this make no sense, thought it would display in DW, i see i now have to have example 2, is this correct?

    example 1
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Untitled Document</title>

    <link href="layout.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
    <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

    </head>
    <body>

    </body>
    </html>

    example 2

    <html>
    <head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="layout.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">

    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">
    <div id="block1"></div>
    <div id="block2"></div>

    </body>
    </html>

    cheers
