August Photo Challenge: Trip Around The World

This week, I have been hosting dignitaries from (literally) halfway around the world.
So I thought it would be great for us to see a smorgasboard of images from around the globe.
Show us either something that is representative of your country, or something noteworthy from a trip you took to another country.

Aye, nice theme. I always enjoy peering through the lens of another photographer and seeing their side of the world.

I especially like seeing the most mundane of things captured too, since it gives you a more realistic experience of life there. Landscapes and monuments are great of course but there's nothing like the street for that kind of insight!

I should be able to find a few shots of my own, I'll add them tonight sometime in the coming days

Well, one of the quintessential touristy things to do when in Seattle is "Ride the Ducks". The "Ducks" are former land/sea troop transporters that tour the downtown Seattle area, then finish up by cruising around Lake Union. Fun!

Great Pictures Faseeh, I doubt if we have anything to match that, not man-made at least.

Wild Spanish Mustangs on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (United States) the story says that ships crashed on the outer banks and the horses swam to shore. Only about 150 horses survive.

The fawn in the photo is 1 day old and was born the night before... on the beach.

Interesting story about the horses. There are feral donkeys and mules in the desert in Peru, and allegedly some camels too, escaped from local farmers. Here are some photos of Peru, where I was born and grew up:

Desert landscape where the coast of Peru starts to rise up into the Andes.

A wheat field high up in the Andes:

In this one the farmers get their donkeys to stamp on the wheat to separate it from the chaff:

And the last of the three main regions of Peru, the Amazon rainforest, taken from a boat in the river, with a storm about to hit us ahead:

This is closer to where I live now, a beach near Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk. There was a massive rainstorm about 10 minutes later.

    Hi,
I saw this beautifully restored Morris 1100 in a service station. I was driving back from Scotland and saw it in the car park.

The picture dosen't really do it justice -- but it was really well done, the paintwork was imaculate.

I had one as my first car, so I guess that is why I liked it soooo much

^Thanks for the compliment. How I wish I had a better digital camera that time. My cam wasn't working properly when I took that photo.
