    photoshop navagation layer question

    I have seen a webhosting company called mddhosting.com now for their navagation menu how can i achieve the same effect in photoshop would would that kind of photoshop graphics be called does anyone know any tutorials on how to do that kind of affects other than making it half of couple of pixels of one layer and half of the over then join the together?

    have that kind of effect or having half of one color and half of the other and having the middle look like its pushing out abit or somthing

    any answers to my question would be great.

    The trick as far as I remember, is to have the same base colour for both (hue) and then just play around with either Saturation or Lightness, or both until you get the desired effect (+/- 30 or +/- 60 are good starting points), obviously keep one of them at the predefined base colour.

    I use the hue/saturation on beveled buttons, It works good because you can change the colors but the bevels stay the same.
