Do Subdomains of Established domains rank better in google?

I was just wondering if anyone knew if Google ranks subdomains of established domains higher than new domains. Or if there was an advantage to doing this.

For example, lets say you have a site that ranks well in Google with the domain abc.com

and you create a subdomain: 123.abc.com

or should I just go with a new domain?

I have to create a site on a new server and I'm pondering wheter to start a new domain or use a sub domain of domain that is already established.

Nope, no advantage for ranking purposes.

Nothing wrong with subdomains, cheaper than buying and maintaining a new one, you can also use Pagerank from the established top domain to boost the sub particularily through a a simple mutual html navigation or map page ( can also do this with a new domain of course) .Webmasters often frown upon subdomains but the average visitor cares little for the actual URL .

No, google's rank usually works like this:

Your frontpage rank is x:

Sub-pages: X-1
Sub-Sub-pages: X-2

Usually they don't go further than sub-sub pages in my opinion.
