Smile How do you monitor your budget?!

Sometimes we fail to monitor our daily consumption. We didn't notice that even a small amount of soap, toothpaste and other groceries cost too much of our budget.

For me, I list down all the groceries that are really needed, and if possible look for the lower price but same quality.

That's good. It's all the habits. Try to have good habits of not buying certain things. Like coffee and eating out. It's so much cheaper to do it at home.

I ensure I know how much money I have in my bank accounts / wallet at any one time, the main reason people fail to account for their budget is pure ignorance to how much money they physically have, online banking for the win

I started using Quicken a while ago and it's helped me see where money is going. You just get a receipt wherever you go and pop it in, or just adjust it to your bank records online. It's improved saving money 10 times over :P
